Video: How to Create Messy Hair Mid Length Hair Styles
As we all know, messy hair styles and many other mid length hair styles change with
the seasons, and a new season is upon us. Personally I've always felt that Autumn has a special romantic freshness
to it – highlighted by the warmth of a candle lit dinner, or the cool excitement of an evening walk while holding
hands with someone special.
In either event, you might find yourself looking for romantic mid length hair styles that are
super easy, while at the same time look very elegant and complicated. If so, then simply follow along with this
video tutorial on how to give yourself a romantic soft and messy updo, and you will find yourself with an
absolutely stunning hairstyle (but make sure to clear some time on your calendar, because all of your friends will
want you to show them how to get this fabulous messy hair updo!).
This is a style that, once you’ve tried it, you will surely want to file under your
favorites! You’ll find that this all purpose messy hair style is great for not only the season of
romance, but also for many other occasions, such as prom hairstyles, dates, parties,
or any number of upcoming social events you might have planned.
To begin the video, our hostess Bubbi shows us how to get the base style that we will need to start with. She
explains that this style is normally done with straight hair, but goes on to show us how we can also apply a
handful of mousse for texture, which she demonstrates by running a hand full all throughout her own hair.
Once we have achieved our base style, we will begin working it in vertical sections, where we will curl only the
ends of our hair (there is no need to worry about the upper layers on this step). Once the base style is
complete, go from ear to ear and gather your hair into a pony tail, and clip it out of the way.
You will then divide your messy updo into three pony tails. At this point you will take the first pony tail
and roughly loop it, leaving your hair dangling loosely at the bottom (it doesn't need to be neat; it just has to
be spontaneous). Once the pony tail is looped, secure it in place with bobby pins (ideally use 2 small pins
for each pony tail). Then repeat this process until the other two pony tails are also complete.
When all three pony tails are secured, your hair ends should fall beautifully in the back,
like a waterfall. At this point you will release the upper section of your hair, and twist it into a bouffant. Then
just secure everything tightly with bobby pins, and your new messy updo is complete. From here, it's up to you how
you style your fringe or your bangs, to which Bubbi offers a couple suggestions.
I hope you've enjoyed this video, and I know you'll look stunning with your new romantic soft & messy hair
style! If you have any other mid length hair styles you'd like to share with the world, contact me!
