As we all know, choosing the right hair updos to match our plans can sometimes be a
difficult and time consuming task, no matter how many hair tips you research. With the following video, I'm hoping
you'll find that this "Simple Romantic Updo" is not only an easy hair do and obvious choice for any of your social
plans. But I also hope you find that, as well as being great in a pinch, it quickly becomes one of your favorite
"go to" styles, as it has for me. Nothing quite takes the work out of getting ready, like the ease and simplicity
of creating the informally formal elegance of this romantic updo.
In this shared "hair tips" video from Krista Bradford, you'll learn how to give yourself a
variety of romantic hair updos. Specifically, she reviews a simple and trendy hair do that can fit any occasion,
from a romantic dinner with that special someone, to going out on the town or just staying in with friends.
As the video tutorial will instruct, you will start with your hair down, sectioning off the sides of your hair
from the ears forward, using a bobby pin or clip to keep these sections securely in place. You will then want to
hold up roughly a 2 inch section of your hair beginning at the crown of your head. Then take a tail comb and use
that to gently tease your hair by brushing backwards towards your scalp. This is also called "back combing", and
will help create more volume.
Then push up the teased hair and lightly apply hair spray. Keep the sides of your hair sectioned off and pull
your hair into a low side pony tail (making sure to use metal free hair ties in order to prevent any damage to your
hair.) By loosening up your hair with the end of a tail comb you can create additional volume.
When your pony tail is secure, curl a small section of your hair, then loop your hair back
and use a bobby pin to pin it into place nearest the pony tail. (Be sure to choose the color of your bobby pins so
that they match your hair). Continue curling small sections of your hair, from the pony tail, while looping it and
pinning your it into place. (Curl, Loop, Pin, Repeat) Make sure to pin all the curls near the pony tail. You can
pin curls on top of each other if necessary. This creates a fuller look. Or you can leave some curls out for a more
romantic look.
Once you're done pinning curls, you'll want to unclip the first front section, and while your hair is smooth,
wrap it around the bottom of the curls. Pin it and then loop it into place. Then wrap the other side, and pin that
into place as well. You can then lightly apply some hairspray for longer lasting curls. A pin or decorative flower
can then be used to finish the hair do off. As you can see, this tutorial helps you to create a one of the more
elegant hair updos you will ever see, with very little time or effort.
