Short Hair Styles for Women
As well as being
stylish, shorter hair is often easy to care for and manage. Some of the best short hairdos & hairstyles for women are those where they are well styled and
cut, giving real body and shape to even wispy, flyaway
hair.
Short & Trendy Hairstyles
More woman than ever before are opting for a trendy, short
look.
With
all the products to great body, waves and lift, it's not surprising that we can create just about any style that
we choose.
Some
of the top models and celebrities are choosing to cut their hair short, with amazing
results.
Check the latest pictures of Keira Knightley, who has had her hair cut short at the
back with a large side sweeping fringe, with golden highlights. Her look is very chic and sophisticated and the
fringe keeps her look very feminine.
Jessica Simpson has had
her hair shortened, although it is still long enough to put up in a ponytail if she wanted. This look is very
wearable, and you can do all sorts of things with it.
Just
ask your hairdresser to have the total length of your hair shortened to shoulder length, with the
shortest layers just 2 inches up from this and have the hair closest to your face cut 2-3 inches shorter than
shoulder length. You can also see this look on Jennifer Lopez.
Whilst some celebrity
styles are super-short and others shoulder length, the most popular cut at the moment is a bob.

Jessica Alba, Ashley
Simpson and Mandy Moore are just some of the stars with this great, versatile hair cut, which is
miles better than a long limp straight cut. Bobs look great straight, or curled, with a side fringe or a centre
parting.
Try
having the parts closest to your face cut a bit longer for a very recent look, although this look is definitely
better kept very simple. The really great thing about this look is that it looks sophisticated all the time, and
not much has to be done to it to keep it looking so.
Black
hair can look great in this, just think of Halle Berry, who for many years had a cropped look, which
looked stunning.
To
recreate this look, make sure to ask your hairdresser to get your hair to about 2 or 3 inches all over and to
make it layered, also if you ask to have the ends razored your look will look much more expensive.
To style this at home, get
some thin hair straighteners (many places sell them with a half inch width) and curl each hair strand and then
flip out the ends. Or you could create this look by blow drying your hair, simply get a small round bristled
brush and curl each piece, to create a really textured look.
Spiky Hairstyles
If you've got the face shape and youth to carry it off, this kind of look can be very trendy. Ask your salon stylist whether this look is the right one for you.
Neve
Campbell and Natalie Portman are celebrities who have had short spiky hair recently, and look great with it.
Short hair can look boyish, but if you have it cut correctly it can also look incredibly sexy.
Perhaps you should think about
having some highlights put through your hair, or a total change of hair color, although be sure that you don’t
shock yourself by a completely drastic change of image.
How to Manage Very Short Hair
More women are sporting very short hair styles - and it's not just for
the younger woman, older women can look great in these kind of styles if they have a great salon cut and have the
face shape to wear it. Black hair can look great in these
increasingly short styles.
Judi Dench for example keeps her short hair looking stunning. Try to copy this look by warming some hair
wax up in your hands, and then adding it all over your hair, lifting the hair up from the roots, to give it a
really textured look.
As long as you have some wax on hand all the time your hair should always look stunning. Try getting other people
to apply it for you, if you start to get a bit bored of it.
Some of the favourite styling products for short hair are Body Shop’s Coconut Oil Hair Shine or Fructis
Style Hard Gel.
