Curly Hair Styles & Updos
Wearing your hair loose is great when you've got plenty of curls.
Curly hair styles require that you manage and control them so they stay in shape and don't turn into a
frizz!
To keep your curly hairstyles in perfect condition go for regular haircuts, use conditioner twice
a week and shampoo your hair every other day - as washing every day can tear away your hairs natural
oils.
Updo Curly Hair Styles

The easy solution to creating an updo for wavy hair is to go for the "messy"
look.
If you're looking for more elegant and sophisticated curly hairstyles, you'll need to put in
some planning and time to ensure that your hair is in good condition, ready to be styled.
Curly hair styles are usually the simplest because having your hair
curly is the best part of the style, so you needn’t do more than pop the rest up in a messy bun or ponytail.
Another way of putting up curly hair is experimenting with grips and clips in different
positions.
If you want something rather more formal however ask your hairstylist next time you go to have your
haircut or have a good play with your hair the next time you have your friends round.
Short Curly Hairstyles
Short or long layered curly hairstyles
....some advice on haircuts for thick or naturally curly hair:
If you want to accentuate your curls then try asking your stylist for a very layered look as this
will leave your hair to have more bounce in it.
If you want to tame your curly locks, ask your hairdresser to cut it with about one inch of layering
and some framing around the face, this will add to the soft look that you naturally have with your
curls.
I would not recommend a fringe if your hair is very curly as this is one of the most difficult curly
hair styles to keep in check.
How to Use Curlers on Hair
Tongs are one of the longest standing inventions for use on
your curly hairstyles, and they have changed very little over the past one hundred years.
This is because they are very simple to use and the effects can last a long time.
Remember that the more money you spend on curlers the longer your ‘look’ should last.
Before you start curling your hair, make sure that your hair is divided into two
sections, with about ¾ of your hair up and the rest loose ad ready to tong.
You may want to use some heat protection spray on your hair here to protect it
from the heat damage from the tongs.
Then start by taking sections of your hair, combing it, and then winding it round
the tong, securing with the grip.
You might try changing the size of the sections to adjust how tight the curls end
up being, and you could also try twisting the sections before putting them in the tongs.
