Sedu Prom Hair
To create that extra special look, a new hairstyle can work wonders, and doesn't have to cost the earth.
Don't stress out about your style, sometimes simple can be best. Creating a straightened hair look, which you
can style as you choose in a bun or updo, or leave down and use your straighteners to create curls at the bottom of
long hair.
For perfect hair, visit your local salon. Dedicate a day to going and having your hair done and experimented with.
Take polaroids of your hairstyles that you create so you can later figure out which one you like the best. Also try
out some styles at home, because these may also be great.
Then decide which you like the best, and ask the opinion of as many other people you can (ask people that are
not going to the prom to make sure you don't ruin the surprise of how great you're going to
look). If you decide to go with your hairdresser make sure that you book an appointment as far in advance as
possible.
Some of the nicest hairstyles are curly ones, which is great because you can create these styles with flat irons.
Just take a strand of hair, hold the straighteners at the top of the strand, grip and then pull the straighteners
through the hair but turn it at the same time. The bigger the angle the tighter the curl will be.
Another popular prom style is to have your hair straight and then the fringe pulled back into a quiff and secured
with a cute clip. These styles are very popular at the moment and the larger the beehive the
better.
Celebrity Sedu Hair Styles

This picture of Hilary Duff shows how a good haircut combined with hair
straightening can create a great look. Combined with good skin and well applied make-up, she manages to look
just perfect every time.
The secrets of the celebrities are that they have a good stylist, take care of their hair with the best products
and that they combine that with good make-up and a smile!
You'll notice that the stars like Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie, Emma Watson and Britney
Spears all use straighteners to create their immaculate Oscar red carpet style.
Using Flat Irons
Celebrities across the world use
flat irons to make their hair look fabulous, without the need to spend
loads of time on it. Jennifer Aniston is most famous for having beautiful straight locks, and is said
to have been straightening her hair since flat irons came out.
Britney Spears, Carmen
Electra and Emma Watson are also some of the great faces that have used straighteners to achieve
perfect hairstyles. Not only do these famous beauties use straighteners but they also know how to take proper
care of their hair, which helps it to look stunning. For example, having a regular haircut or deep conditioning
treatment can keep locks looking glossy.
To
really create a red carpet look do the following:
-
Shampoo and
rinse your hair, and then apply a small amount of conditioner, but leave this in your hair. Also apply
a small amount of heat protection spray to the hair.
-
Blow dry your
hair using a paddle brush to smooth down the hair and keep the locks in the right direction.
-
Take your hair
into 3 sections, starting with the hair closest to your neck. Grip the rest on top of your head for the
moment.
-
Pass the
straighteners over your hair, taking your time and pressing firmly.
-
Let down the
next section and repeat, continue until all the hair is straightened. Finish your hair by combing it
gently and applying a gloss serum.
Options with your
Straighteners
Generally, straighteners come in two widths, 1 inch and 1.5
inch. For everyday straightening, the wider ones are recommended for hair longer than shoulder length, while the
narrower ones are for shorter hair.
However, if you want to use them for curling, the narrower
ones might also be a good investment as they will help to create smaller curls. It doesn't sound like a lot, but
the half inch difference matters! Wider plates can be used more effectively for making waves.
Both types of straightener will suit any hair type -
coloured, thick or fine, though the thicker width ones are recommended for particularly thick or coarse hair.
The way to use them for a specific hair type is to pay special attention to the heat settings.
For fragile, damaged and thin/fine hair, the lowest heat
setting is advised. The middle settings are recommended for ordinary hair in everyday styling and the highest
settings only for healthy thick, coarse or ethnic hair.
The heat ranges from 120°C to 200°C, so even at the lowest
setting that is above boiling point! For this reason, it is very important to only use the straighteners on dry hair. Using while the hair is
wet, or even damp, can cause scorch damage.
They should also be
used on clean hair containing only the styling products required or recommended for use. Using them on
hair full of days-old products and finishing products such as hairspray can cause the plates to become dirty and
ineffective, as well as pulling at the hair and quite possibly making a mess when it is
heated.
