How to choose your party make-up

Did you know that you don't have to invest in dozens of new products so that you can look great when you go out to a party?

Just by changing your lipstick or eyeshadow, you can look very different and glamorous.

For an evening event, you might wish to consider a foundation to give your skin that glowing, all over colour that brings your skin alive.

For your eyes, you can be a little bolder than you are in the daytime, plenty of mascara on those long lashes and a little eyeliner will give definition.

For your lips, just adding lip gloss can give an instant look of glamour.  You can also choose a slightly stronger colour than you usually wear during the day.

Add a few accessories, matching earrings and a necklace and step out on to the catwalk , oh er, the pavement or sidewalk!

Creating the Perfect Party Make-up Winter & Christmas party makeup

Just follow these instructions to create a great look:

  1. Start by cleansing your face and applying a toner,  Make sure that you have a clear base to start with.
  2. Apply concealer to any blemishes and under eye circles with a concealer brush, or pat it on with your fingertips.
  3. Then apply a good foundation with a makeup sponge. Dot the foundation over your face, then sweep in long lines over your face.
  4. Put a small amount of eyeliner on the parts of your skin closest to your eyes (but not on the rims of your eyes).
  5. Pick three shades of eye colour that go well together. Put the lightest shade all over your eye, up to your eyebrow. Follow by putting the medium shade over the eye lid, and into the eye creases. Then put the darkest shade right next to the eyelash line and blend.
  6. Mascara should be applied next, and is best put on by taking the brush from side to side as you bring it upwards.
  7. Apply blusher to the apples of your cheeks, try a huge smile and put the blusher in the most raised parts. Take the blusher brush from your cheeks up across your cheekbone.
  8. Choose a natural lip colour and gloss, and apply these with a small brush. Don’t over do the lip gloss as this can look really fake. Finish the look by spraying some water in a mist onto your face to set the look.

And, finally, have a great party!
