Homecoming Updos &
Hairdos

Having a great hairstyle is essential when you go to such a
special occasion, especially as it is one of the first events
like this that you will go to.
The best advice one can give is to tell you to practice with
your hair weeks before the actual day, check that it works well
with your dress.
This way you can be sure how long it will take you and whether
it will be easy to do.
Homecoming updos for curly hair
Creating a gorgeous hairstyle
for a formal event when you've got curly hair can be quite
tricky especially if it is quite thick, so here are a few
ideas.
Try borrowing or buying a pair
of flat irons or hair straighteners for
the event (and time to practice a few days before).
What you can try is to dry your locks with a blowdryer to keep
your natural volume, and then straighten from about an inch
from your head, not pulling so tightly as to loose your natural
wave. This way you can create a very natural, but more defined
look.
It is also important to remember that the more expensive the
straighteners (generally) the longer your look will last.
Curly & Formal
Updos
The loose chignon, seen a lot on the celebrity red carpets, is
fairly simple to create as long as you have the correct
product. You can purchase a bun grip that will twist your
strands and then clasp together. Be sure if you use any product
like this that the bun is not too tight, as this will make your
overall ‘look’ very harsh, not feminine.

Another beautiful style is a twisted upstyle, where several
sections are taken, twisted with a finger until tight and then
pinned at the back of the head (try about 8-12
sections).
If you are still stuck for ideas, ask your friends to try doing
you hair so you get some inspiration, or ask your hairstylist
next time you go for a haircut.
Keeping the look
One of the biggest challenges is keeping your ‘do’ looking
amazing throughout the evening, especially if your locks tend
to go frizzy, but there are solutions.
Firstly to apply a lot of product that will make your strands
lie flatter, for example a deep conditioning treatment that
washes out, or leaving some normal conditioner in after
shampooing.
On the evening you could also try using a hi-shine hairspray
that will make your hair style look amazing as well as keeping
it in place.
