Create updos for your hair type
Whether you've got very short, medium length or long hair,
- it's possible to create an updo hairstyle to suit your style and hair
type.
You'll need to ensure that your hair is in good condition and that you use the best styling products to create
that special look.
It's important to understand a little about your hair in order to take best care of it.
Recognising Your Hair Type
Hair types generally fall within the categories of Caucasian, African and Asian, which are
all very different.
African hair is dry and curly, typified by the 'afro'. It is easily damaged by
heat.
Asian hair is thick, black and very straight. It is the strongest hair type and the type most
suitable for heavy styling.
Caucasian hair
is a complicated thing. It ranges from blonde to black, thick to
fine and curly to straight, typified by examples such as dark, thick wavy hair in those of Latino descent and
the straight blond hair of northern Europeans.
Amongst these basic types are oily, normal, combination and dry. Oily hair usually
requires washing every day to prevent looking like it hasn't been done for a month.
People who do not suffer with oily hair come up with solutions like “don't wash it for a
week at a time and it'll sort itself out”. It doesn't. It's a genetic problem and will usually be accompanied by
an oily complexion.
Not washing the hair will actually make the problem get worse by aggravating the scalp and
blocking the hair follicles.
The oil, or sebum, produced by the glands in the head can be controlled somewhat with a greasy hair
shampoo, which is formulated to remove the sebum without stripping the hair of the moisture it
needs.
Most women try several
brands of shampoo before they find one that works well with their hair, and then they tend to stick with that
product for a while.
Whilst it's worth
finding out what products work for your friends, only you know what particular problems and difficulties you
face with your hair, so you are the best person to choose the right solution.
