Finding the Perfect Dress

Most of us girls only get a few opportunities to wear an evening dress or ball gown, so it's essential that we find "The One" that's perfect!

If you're unsure of what style is likely to suit you, here's a few pointers:-

1.   For tall women, a long figure-hugging dress

2.   For plus sizes, choose dresses which show off your shapely top, and have detail at the bottom. 

3.   For pear shaped women, dresses with a high waist or fitted bust

4.   For the petite woman, short, cocktail style dresses

5.   To look slimmer, try dresses with a defined waist or waist band

Color is very important - although many women are tempted to choose the "little black dress", being a little more adventurous could help you to stand out in the crowd and look far more stunning.

Taking a friend or family member along to help choose can certainly help where style and color are concerned. 

Remember, the tip with choosing the right color is to choose one where the first thing people see is YOU!  If they see the dress first, and then see you, it's unlikely to be the right color for you.

Hiring a gown is surprisingly popular. 

Not so surprising when you realise that you can wear, for one night, gowns by Oscar de la Renta, Chanel, Givenchy and a host of well known designers.  Whilst they may not come cheap, for a night to remember, this is a great way to treat yourself.  Who knows, even the most unobservant of dates may actually notice what you're wearing this time!

Shoes & Accessories

An outfit can be made or lost by it's accessories.  Attractive shoes or sandals can really contribute to your overall look and don't need to be expensive.

Buying or borrowing some earrings and a necklace to match can help bring the whole look together, so don't leave choosing them 'til the last minute.

In fact, it's never too early to start the process!
