Bridesmaid Hair & Bridesmaid Hairstyle Tips

Obviously enjoying her glamorous updo!
Choosing the right bridesmaid hair style is
a huge decision. Depending on the bride, you may be asked to wear your hair up or down. Some brides want
their bridesmaids hair styles to be opposite of their own so if they wear their hair up, they expect yours
down or in a half updo. Then, those who wear their hair down might want yours up.
You also may be faced with working together with the other
bridesmaids to choose a uniform look. Some brides prefer all their gals to be identical for the sake of the
photos. In this case, you will need to consider the length of hair that everyone has who is involved in the
party.
Choosing a Uniform Look with Various Lengths
Most parties who are asked to create a
uniform look when it comes to their bridesmaid hairstyle are faced with the problem of at least one person
having short hair. How are you all supposed to look similar when one girl has a pixie haircut, a few have
shoulder-length hair, and one boasts extra-long locks, for example?
In this case, a bridesmaids hair style done with curly hair will
work best. If everyone curls their hair in barrel or spiral curls and then puts it into an updo and pins
loose pieces, you’re granted volume and you can’t tell that their hair lengths are
different.
Now, to make sure that the one bridesmaid with the super short
hair blends in with the rest, all you have to do is add a hair accessory that everyone will wear. This could
be a barrette, flower, ribbon, etc.
Less is More
It can be tempting to use a few hair
accessories, especially when there are so many to choose from and no one can pick only one. However, less is
more with bridesmaid hair! If you are spending a lot of time on a hairstyle or having it done by a
professional, why would you want to take away from the look by adding too many accessories to your
hair?
The golden rule of fashion – about removing two accessories after you are ready to go out – applies to hair as
well. No one is going to notice the detail of that gorgeous updo if you have four different accessories adding to
the look as well.
Don’t Outshine the Bride
It is a good idea to run the bridesmaid hairstyle and accessory
of choice by the bride for her approval. Even if she says something is fine, look at her face and body language,
they may be saying something different. You never want your bridesmaid
hairstyle to outshine that of the bride.
Sure, you want to look spectacular but this is her day! If she
is someone who is natural and is going with a simple chignon or ballerina bun, your bridesmaids hair style
shouldn’t be so extravagant that it takes away from her. Bridesmaid hair should be elegant and complementary to
the bride.
