What is the Best Hair Straightener?

As you know, I love the art of the updo. It is my passion and the sole reason I started this website. But I also love hair in general, and having the best hair straightener possible makes life easier when it comes to having silky smooth hair. In fact, having a reliable and high-quality hair straightener or flat iron is so important that I thought I would write a page about it.

Obviously, there are tons of choices in the market.  These range from generic, low quality store brands all the way up to professional salon tools.  With so many choices, choosing the best hair straightener for your hair can be a daunting task. 

Well, the good news is that I have literally tried over 15 different types of hair straighteners over the years, so I can help narrow down the list of choices for you.

Materials

Any given flat iron can be made with a variety of different materials, but the best types are the titanium hair straightener and ceramic hair straightener. 

Any hair straightener containing plates made with these materials seems to produce smoother and less frizzy results.  They also seem to enhance the color and shininess of your hair. 

I certainly do not know the technical reasons behind these benefits, but this is what I have seen from my own personal experience. 

Brand

Regarding the specific brand, it seems like I have tried them all! I have used Chi, Sedu, Solia, GHD, and probably at least 6 others. But whether you need to curl, flip, wave, straighten or increase volume, my absolute favorite by far is Karmin. The company sells a titanium hair straightener, ceramic hair straightener, and several other hair tool products.

Karmin is a relatively new brand of hair straightener, having been around for about 5 years, but in my humble opinion it is the best of the bunch and it’s not even close.  This company seems to offer the best combination of materials, features and flexibility. 

That said, I encourage you to do your own Internet research on the brand.  Don’t just take my word for it.  Do some Google searches and see for yourself.  I am sure you will find that there are tons of people that LOVE Karmin just like me!
